Iranian embassy rejects being linked to ‘violent activities, incidents’ in the UK
Iran’s embassy in London has issued a statement castigating “the fabricated negative media environment” in the United Kingdom and rejected allegations linking Iran to violent incidents in the UK.
“Such baseless accusations against [the] Islamic Republic of Iran, lack credible evidence and appear to serve narrow political agendas and to mislead public opinion and distract from the real root causes of terrorism and violent extremism,” the embassy said in a lengthy post on X.
Noting that Iran has been a “primary victim of terrorism for decades” amid the killing of large numbers of “innocent civilians, high-ranking officials and scientists”, the embassy said that Tehran “remains at the forefront of the global struggle against terrorism and violent extremism”.
“The Embassy also notes that, in previous official communications and discussions, it had raised concerns with relevant authorities about certain suspicious activities and the potential exploitation of ‘false flag’ operations on UK soil,” it added.

Lebanese government has ‘no leverage’ in US-led talks with Israel
Rania Khalek, a Lebanese political analyst based in Beirut, has been speaking to Al Jazeera and offering a critical assessment of the ongoing diplomatic efforts between Israel and Lebanon.
Khalek said that “most people don’t believe these talks to achieve anything, because the Lebanese government has no leverage”.
She suggested that the Lebanese government has “essentially capitulated to the US”, a move she said that “allowed the US to try to separate the Lebanon front from the Iran front”.
While the government in Beirut may claim “we want to negotiate for ourselves”, Khalek said that they have instead been “participating in this sort of theatrical performance that’s really helping the Americans separate these two fronts”.
The “Lebanese government can’t even give Lebanon anything in exchange for literally sitting down with the Israelis”, she said, pointing out that “there is no ceasefire in place in the country” amid the daily Israeli attacks.
Furthermore, she suggested the situation has “polarised the country because you still have a huge swath of Lebanon, particularly the Shia of the south, having been displaced, and they continue to be displaced”.
She also highlighted a significant diplomatic gap: “There is no Shia representation in these supposed negotiations between the Lebanese and the Israelis.”

Company backed by Trump’s sons to sell drones to US military
The founder of US drone company, Powerus, has said that his company will sell drones to the US military, confirming a Bloomberg report about the company backed by Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.
According to the Bloomberg report, the US Air Force has agreed to buy an undisclosed number of interceptor drones from the Florida-based company.
“This is about American drone dominance. The drone threat is real – it’s here. Cheap drones are beating expensive defences every day, and American warfighters are exposed,” Brett Velicovich, the founder of Powerus, said in a post on X.
“The economics of modern warfare have flipped, and we’ve been slow to catch up. Our tech flips them back. This is about saving American lives,” Velicovich added.

WATCH: Gaza aid flotilla intercepted; Activists say the Israeli military surrounded boats
Activist Yassine Benjelloun, who is with the Global Sumud Flotilla, joined Al Jazeera’s live broadcast from the Mediterranean Sea to recount the horrendous events when Israeli forces raided aid vessels and abducted 175 activists in international waters off Greece.
“Where is Europe? Where are the leaders of the world? Why are we not talking about this more?” Benjelloun said.
“I am bewildered by the violence that we’ve been witnessing for the past three years in Palestine, and yet it is continuing here with innocent civilians, with us, who are just trying to bring aid to Palestine,” he said.

Israel applying tactics used in the destruction of Gaza to Lebanon
Elijah Magnier, a specialist in Middle East regional dynamics and senior political risk analyst, spoke to Al Jazeera about Israel’s war on Lebanon, and how Israel is applying the “Rafah doctrine” – named after the destroyed city in southern Gaza – to Lebanon.
“This is what the Israeli Defence Minister Israeli Katz told us, that in Lebanon, there will apply the ‘Rafah doctrine’, which means flattening everything,” Magnier told Al Jazeera.
“Destroying homes, schools, universities, hospitals. Everything that they can see and leave nothing for the people,” he said.
The focus is to destroy so completely that local Lebanese people no longer “know the previous topography of the land” and “not allow anyone to return”.
“This is what the Israelis are doing because they are unaccountable and because they think they can get away with it by having the blessing of the United States of America,” Magnier said.
This is “exactly what they have done in Gaza, and nobody rendered them accountable”.

Palestine Football Association president calls out Israeli ‘fascism and genocide’ as FIFA meets
The President of the Palestine Football Association Jibril Rajoub has refused to be photographed with his Israeli counterpart, in a gesture requested by FIFA President Gianni Infantino during an event in Vancouver, Canada.
“I cannot shake the hand of someone the Israelis have brought to whitewash their fascism and genocide. We are suffering,” Rajoub told the Reuters news agency after refusing to pose with the Vice-President of the Israeli Football Association Basim Sheikh Suliman.

Only Trump can choose what to do next
US President Trump has been saying that Iran is going to make a deal for a long period of time.
He’s also been saying that they have been destroyed for a long period of time.
He also insists that he can continue to wait as long as he needs to, or as long as he decides to.
He remains absolutely convinced that the economic blockade of Iran, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, along with economic sanctions against individuals and entities in Iran, will ramp up the economic pressure, which will force Iran to eventually come to the negotiating table to discuss matters on the terms of the president of the United States.
Now, despite all the evidence to the contrary, the fact is that Iran appears to be holding out – this is what President Trump still firmly believes, or at least publicly states.
President Trump has said repeatedly that the ceasefire is open-ended, that he will decide whether or not it will continue.
Now, there’s no doubt that there have been various scenarios laid out for him by his military advisers and by his intelligence advisers as to what to do should the ceasefire no longer be extended.
Obviously, that would involve some form of armed action, some form of intensified economic action.
There’s absolutely no doubt that President Trump has all sorts of scenarios that have been laid out in front of him, but very clearly as well, it’s going to be him and him alone who will choose what to do next.
