Sutherland’s five-for takes her to the top
Australian seam bowler Annabel Sutherland took her first five-wicket haul in ODIs and in the process moved to the top of the tournament’s wicket-taking charts.
She now leads with 10 scalps, while England’s Sophie Ecclestone and India’s Deepti Sharma are second with nine wickets apiece.

With that big hundred, the Australian captain is now second on the run-scoring charts for the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
Healy now has 181 runs from three innings, but she’s still some way behind New Zealand captain Sophie Devine, who has 260 runs from her three.
Pratika Rawal is third with 180, with compatriot Richa Ghosh fourth with 163 and Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner has 161.

‘To chase down 330 in 50-overs game is new territory for us’
Victorious Australia captain Alyssa Healy dissected the match: “[It’s a] great result. We’ll take those two points. To chase down 330 in a 50-overs game is new territory for us. Hopefully, we don’t have to do it again.
“Our top order felt like we needed to contribute more. Knowing that we needed to chase big, getting a quick start was crucial. That we were able to maintain the run-rate was cool.
“[On Sutherland] .. she’s probably the pick of our bowlers from a length perspective. She identified the lengths to bowl, and executed perfectly. There was some junk bowling, [but] we were able to hang in there.
“Partnerships are key. We lacked that in the first couple of games. We were able to have a significant one and to have Perry walking in at 30 not out is cheeky. Ultimately got the job done; that’s crucial. “

‘Not batting well in the last six overs cost us’
India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur shared her thoughts after the match: “The way we started, we could have added 30-40 [more] runs. We missed runs in the last six overs, and that cost us.
“We knew it was a good batting wicket, but not batting well in the last six overs cost us. The openers have been outstanding. Because of them, we have been scoring 300 runs.
“[The] last three games, we were not able to bat in the middle overs. Our lower order took responsibility. Today, the first 40 overs were good. It is important how we come back; these things happen.
“[On Charani] … she has been outstanding. Today, also she bowled well to their batters. Even when Healy was batting, she was not giving anything easily.
“We have a lot of hope from her to give breakthroughs. [On having five bowlers] … we’ll sit and discuss. This combination has given us success. Two bad games are not going to make a difference.”

Healy is your player of the match
The Australian skipper, after scoring a sublime 141 off 107 balls, had this to say after the match: “Really proud of the group. A little bit tight at the back end, but we got over the line.
“We have been preaching about the depth in our lineup. We could be chasing 360 plus. I was trying to lock in for a big day.
“To contribute heavily was good. Would have liked to stay a bit longer, but the girls got the job done. Was wondering what I had done, we would be chasing 380.
“But the bowlers pulled it back. Charani bowled really well tonight. We haven’t identified threats; we limited the damage and tried and attack the others.”

Australia pull off highest successful ODI chase
Despite India putting up a daunting 330 in the first innings, Australia show why they are the favourites to win the tournament with a splendid chasing effort.
It was set up nicely by a brisk opening stand of 85 in just 11.2 overs by Healy and Litchfield. Perry then joined her skipper to put on a further 83 runs for the second wicket, before she had to retire hurt.
Healy continued deep into the innings, finishing with a wonderful knock off 141 off 107 balls, which included 21 fours and three sixes.
Gardner took on the mantle with the chase, scoring 45 off 46, before Perry returned to see her side home, and cap a record chase with an over to spare.
Charani was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3 for 41. She was ably supported by Deepti (2 for 52) and Amanjot (2 for 68).

Rana into final over
Interestingly, Harmanpreet throws the ball to Rana, who has so far bowled nine overs with figures of none for 72.
The over doesn’t start well, and the second ball is deftly reverse-swept away by Garth to the deep third rope.

48 overs. Australia 318-7
Thirteen off 12 needed now. With Perry there, though, Australia will still have plenty of hope.
Can India add another twist to this tale?

47 overs. Australia 315-7
Garth flicks Goud’s fourth ball to mid-wicket. Rodrigues swoops in and aims for the nonstriker’s but just misses. Garth was well short, and had that been a direct hit, she would have been sent to the dugout.
Perry then goes after a juicy low full toss, just beating the fielder at long-on to get a final-ball boundary.
Sixteen off 18 now.
