The names of victims of the worst mass shooting in US history were being released in Orlando, Florida, on Monday following an attack on a gay nightclub that left 50 dead.

“Our city is working tirelessly to get as much information out to the families so they can begin the grieving process,” police said in a statement, accompanied by the names of 21 of the 50 killed.

The victims were aged between 20 and 50, according to the list, which gave no further details about the individuals other than their names.

At least 53 people were wounded, many in a critical condition, after a gunman opened fire at Pulse nightclub.
