This blog is now closed, thanks for joining us. These were all the updates from the Champions League final between Manchester City and Inter Milan on Saturday, June 10.

  • Manchester City beat Inter Milan 1-0 to win the Champions League for the first time in their history and complete the treble.
  • Rodri scored the only goal of a cagey game in which Inter frustrated City and had chances to win.
  • It was the second Champions League final held in Turkey – the first being Liverpool’s famous comeback victory over AC Milan at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in 2005.

    It’s a wrap

What an exciting finish that was.

Inter threatened to get back into the match a few times in the second half after going a goal down.

However, Ederson came to the fore to ensure City walk away with their first-ever Champions League trophy.

Through this feat, Guardiola becomes the first manager to win the treble with two different clubs as well as winning his third overall Champions League.

Spare a thought for Inter who kept to their plans to keep the Manchester club quiet for large swathes of the match. Until Rodri’s intervention, they looked to push this match into extra-time, and possibly penalties.

We do hope you enjoyed our coverage of today’s final and before you go, make sure to check out our match report for all the details.

Till the next time, we bid you adieu.

    ‘Today we made history’: Gundogan

Gundogan, who may very well be leaving the club in the summer, summed up his thoughts: “Unbelievable night, I’m so happy. Difficult to put into words. I think today we made history,” he told BT Sport.

“It was clear it was going to be difficult for both teams. We weren’t our best in the first half. It was a 50-50 game. One goal made the difference as it often does in finals. We feel very fortunate it was for us.

“We knew everyone was talking about the treble. The pressure was there but I think this team is built to handle pressure in the best possible way.”

‘This is a dream come true’: Rodri

Rodri, who scored the winning goal, shares his thoughts: “This is a dream come true. All these guys waiting, I don’t know how many years. Some waiting 30 years. Last year we were so close. At the end, it is down to God.

“It wasn’t easy. What a team we faced. The way they defended and counter-attacked. They are a great team. I don’t want to forget about my lads, they gave everything. It was an unbelievable effort from everyone.”

Full-time: Manchester City 1-0 Inter Milan

With that last-minute vital stop from the corner, the referee soon blows the whistle and City officially become the champions of Europe.

Ever since Sheikh Mansour bought the club back in 2008, this was the one trophy the club prized above all.

Despite unrivalled success in the Premier League in recent years, this one title continued to elude the grasp of the Manchester-based side.

But tonight, with the match going down to the wire, City can proudly hold their heads up as they emulate the 1999 feat of their rival Manchester United by capturing a historic treble after claiming the FA Cup and Premier League.

Last-ditch corner almost levels the scores

Inter win a corner on the right side and Ederson once again rescues City as the header finds the target, but the Brazilian is able to keep it out.

Inter fans just can’t believe it as that’s three chances they have had to equalise now.

Ederson with biggest save of the match

Lukaku almost spells doom for City fans as Ederson makes a reflex save for the ages.

A Brozovic cross from the right finds Gosen who is on the left side of the box.

The German sends another header into the box and Lukaku is able to head the ball downward but finds the kneecap of the Brazilian goalkeeper, who knew little about it.

Dias is able to clear the ball away for a corner on the right side.

What an absolutely vital stop from Ederson as we enter the closing stages.

    Walker comes on for Stones

Walker, who has been on the touchline for quite some time, is finally brought on for Stones.

This is surely a change made to try and stem any opportunities originating from the left flank from Inter.

The pacy right-back will try and keep the energy levels up as we near the 90-minute mark.

    Onana with vital stop

Foden receives the ball outside the box and slaloms past two defenders.

He gets within clear sight of goal and lashes to the left of Onana, but the Cameroonian does well to stop City from going up 2-0.

    Double change for Inter

Dumfries and Bastoni, who have played well, see their participation in tonight’s festivities come to a close.

Their replacements, Gosens and Bellanova, make their way on as Inter try to seize the match by the scruff of its neck.

    Lukaku chance goes begging

Inter have increased the intensity as they have abandoned their initial plans in order to get back into this final.

Lukaku gets a chance on the edge of the box just right of centre. He hits a powerful strike on target, but Ederson takes care of it with ease.

    Dimarco almost equalises right away

What just happened here? Dumfries, who is jostling for the ball as it bounces, sends up a header into the box.

Dimarco, who is able to evade his marker, ends up looping the ball with a header towards goal from inside of the box.

However, the downward trajectory of the ball bounces off the crossbar, as Ederson was scrambling back to try and stop the chance. It comes back to Dimarco, whose second header hits Lukaku and is cleared.

Unbelievable opportunity there for Inter and the players look absolutely gutted.
